"Can I ask you this question I've always wondered?" Jon asked as they walked away from the empty hall where she'd found him. "Maybe I asked before things changed....How did you get a name like Athena?"
"Well...my mom gave it to me," she said. "She liked how it sounded. It's not as common as Jon, but it's not like I'm the only one...well I am at this school..." She trailed off. "Why is this important? What about Zoe?"
Jon blinked for a moment. "Oh...the person you're looking for..." he frowned. "It's like...for a moment there, I just got distracted."
"It's the magic," she said. "You need to concentrate...Magic doesn't like to be stopped. It will come up with ways to try to keep you from stopping it. Usually just distractions."
"So...if someone doesn't exist...how do we find them?"
"Well, I'm hoping the shop will have something. You can't make someone cease to exist like that. It's like a rule. So, if you erased someone from existence....they'd have to exist somewhere else. She might be a person, or an animal...maybe even an inanimate object...Look, I don't know everything. This is the first really powerful magic I've ever seen...Maybe we need some more help. I can see if any of my friends will help...if they aren't affected. What about your friend, Karyn? Would she believe us?"
Jon looked at her. "Karyn?" He questioned.
