"Get used to what?" A voice asked. He whirled around and frowned. There was a girl there with a distinct resemblance to him.
Zoe was the spitting image of their mother...at least she was before she'd dyed her hair and adopted her gothic clothing and makeup. Jon and Mikey took after their late father...as did this girl.
"What are you staring at?" The girl looked to be about Zoe's age.
"Nothing," he said. "Where's Mom?"
"She's still at the office. Probably won't be home till late again....do you want to order a pizza?"
"Okay," he agreed. It would give him time to find his room.
"The usual?"
"Yeah," he agreed. He headed out of the kitchen. There were no family photos anywhere so far. It was like the house was a showpiece. He went upstairs, looking for his bedroom. He began to open doors, finding a girl's room, a guest room, and finally what was his room. In here, he did find a personal picture...it was similar to one he remembered, except the setting was outside this house, not the one he remembered. His mom, his dad, and...this new sister of his. Where was Zoe? Mikey?
The cool new house didn't quite make up for losing his siblings.
