He made a beeline for the door, and went for his wallet. His last name was still Madison. He wondered. He was still himself, but the address on his ID was different.
So, he had wished for someone else's life...that could mean anything. He would have never deliberately made such a vague wish. But, so far, all he'd confirmed is he had a better cell phone and lived, by the address, in a nicer part of town. If that was all, he'd gotten off easy.
He headed toward his new house, and was amazed by what he found. It had a much larger yard, a detached garage, and seemed to have several more bedrooms. Here, his key worked.
He began to explore the house, starting downstairs, where there was a wide living room area. It had no TV though, like his had, just couches. Was his family weird or something?
He continued into the kitchen...large and modern. The whole house so far looked like it should be on some design show. It was spotless. His house had never been spotless. Did people actually live here?
Continuing to explore, he found what must be a den...this room had a complete home theater.
"I could get used to this," Jon said to himself.
"Get used to what?" A voice asked. He whirled around.
