"I am NOT an error," she said....unsure of why her volume had suddenly gone up. "Why don't you go analyze something else?"
Seeing that as an instruction, he turned and left without further words, leaving Drew to respond to another text from the contact labeled Mom, advising that she was 'fine'. But she wasn't quite sure she was.
An-One tried to figure out what the error was. It seemed to...disrupt his attention from the tasks he was supposed to perform. It was a sharp contrast from the clarity of the instructions. Make the bed, empty the trash cans, scrub the toilet....The instructions seemed more powerful than the disruption. He decided he needed to make order out of the error.
Meanwhile, Drew was trying to make sense of it as well. When she thought about it, everything felt so...colorless....except for today...today felt...fuller somehow. How dare someone suggest something was wrong with that? She tried to think about all the things she could be doing. She could play more games...she could read. She could take a swim...or a hot shower....it sounded so nice for some reason.
Meanwhile, the house system, linked into both of them, was acting according to its own instructions, prompted by those authorized to give it instructions...although it had some confusion of its own about exactly who that was.
