It was like an out-of-body experience. I felt floatly and my body was transparent as I stood next to Darrien. I could remotely control the kunai from where I was standing though. I could put some "weight" into the attacks and let it go a bit farther than it would normally go if it was just him alone using it. He could see and hear me talk to him as well. It was probably the same way for Knat. The bandit leader was a burly and brash woman. She stared us both down and glared. "Are you the pipsqueaks that were killing my men?" she demanded. "It doesn't matter! We won't let you steal from our village anymore. You better leave us alone from now on." Liam said. The captain gave us a barking laugh in response. "I do whatever the fuck I want. If you think a plank of wood and a tiny knife is going to beat us, you have another thing coming." she said before siccing the men on us. There were 10. It was not hard for us to take them out once we split them up. Darrien and I took 5 kills. Knat and Liam got the others for themselves. Once they were dead, it was time to take on the female bandit captain.
Going at it, she was no slouch. She was way more trained for battle than any of us. We all got our lumps, but we got her down to critical health. She was breathing really heavily. She realized that she was not going to win this fight if she kept going. She stood tall and said "Looks like these boys have some balls! Count yourselves lucky." It was the best we were going to get. She then walked away with her head held high. The others in the village were still too frightened to do much. When she left, our heroes were raised up on their arms and celebrated. That was pretty good. News spread and the others came over to see what was going on. They spirits were miffed that they missed all the action. Shank walked right up to us and challenged us to a fight. "It's time to show you two who the real top dog is again!" he boasted. I went over to Ace and Deuce. "Let me wield you for the fight. I don't think you want to miss this." Ace got a gleam in his eye. "Yeah! Shank can be knocked down a peg or two." he said. I watched as they became balls of light and floated to my hands. It was still cool.
