Furious, he moved on. "Sorry about that. He's new and doesn't see all of the good that humans can be yet. There has been a lot of banditry going on. Neo-Rutten is the biggest city nearby. Something might be going on there that's causing unrest." 07-001 apologized. Paul shrugged. "Doesn't bother me. If someone out there killed one of my clanmates, I'd be pissed off too." he said. "I think so too. I know the Lightning hub is for Advocates. You just have to keep going." The AEP unit narrowed his eyes at us. "Who are you guys!? You shouldn't know about the factions!" he accused. I said "We are from the PBJ Clan. We recently finished a job for the Radioactive Clan. You have to tell you hub something important." I then told them about the leak. I omitted the fact that it was our fault. He sighed. "We got a transmission from the Void Clan this morning. We were both too preoccupied to listen to it yet. Thanks for the direct warning. We'll switch over and update the settings in the lab to neutralize this breach tonight. It might take us time though. The greatest priority is keeping Relámpago safe." We offered an alliance and they took it.
Getting home was as simple as borrowing one of their vehicles. One of their PEP units would come with us to take it back. I found that admirable. The compound was in good hands. We made our way to the road. We had to go kill lots of things in the way to get there. Once on the road, it was easy to make our way over to Dwan Town. A few hours were all it took. The path was already established. "I can't believe an AEP unit like us was so negligent as to be captured and mined for data. I guess we'll need to prepare for more attacks." 07-002 said over the roar of the engine. The Toxic transmission hub was already on the laptop. If it got in government hands, there would be wave after wave of goons sent there to destroy it and find data on where the others were. From what we knew of it, the safehouses could be mobile. A group of the PEP units could shut down a tiny base and move somewhere else. As a fixed apparatus, they could not just take it and go. The cyborgs in the area would need to go stand and defend from attackers. That will never end. Especially for Players against them.
He was totally right. Once we were there, we thanked him. "Don't mention it. It was actually... really nice to look around and get out the area for a bit." he said with a wry smile before looking back at his human compatriots. It seemed that even the AEP units could suffer from low morale. He then got back in the ATV and they went back the way they came. At least they would be safe. As long as we got all of the Researcher and Advocate hubs secure, things would be fine. Volition Clan also needed to be warned. If an ally needed to be warned, we had to do so. I did not know what hub governed their area, but it had to be done. Alex and Alexis were the ones that handled it. I decided to check up on them. It would be very nice to act like a clan officer every once in a while. I decided to go straight to the Red Grind. I asked Paul what he was doing. He was going to see one of his girlfriends and go a few dates. Paul said "Call me if something happens. The Volition Clan is full of assholes, but it was my fuck up out in Nova that caused all this." I told him that I would. Making my way over, I sighed.
