“Simply fascinating!” Dr Michaels muttered as he looked over Ruby’s shoulder.
“What is it?” Jon asked nervously. Ruby looked over at him, a serious look flashed in her eyes for a brief moment before she smiled at him again.
“We’ll Jon, I’m not sure how to say this, but it looks as though you’ve actually got your mothers entire reproductive system, look” she reached up and turned the monitor towards him. Jon couldn’t really make out anything amidst what just looked like weird static on the screen.
“This seems to be a womb right here, and if we move this way, these are… your ovaries” Ruby said pointing at various darker shapes that appeared. Meanwhile dr Michaels was scribbling away on his clipboard.
“So what does this mean then?” Jon asked nervously.
“Honestly Jon, we’re not entirely sure right now. This has never happened before, but we’re doing everything we can to get to the bottom of it. This has been very helpful. You can get dressed now, and then you’re free to go.” Ruby smiled again as she placed a hand on his leg. Jon sighed with relief and climbed off the chair. He quickly pulled his clothes back on, and as he was doing up the fly on his jeans dr Michaels cleared his throat.
“Before you go, would you be willing to let us take a blood sample?” He asked. Jon shuddered, he normally didn’t like needles, but considering everything else he had just gone through, it didn’t seem so bad.
“Sure” he replied. Ruby took the sample from him with no trouble, even if he did discover a momentary interest in the ceiling tiles as she did.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done today Jon” she said as she placed a small plaster over the needle hole, “we’ll be in touch with the blood results, until then you’re good to go” she said. Jon smiled back and left the two doctors to their work.
“Who’s next?” Ruby asked as Dr Michaels removed his paperwork from the clipboard and placed it carefully in a folder in his satchel. He produced another pack of papers and read the name, then exited the curtain.
