"The Seafarer Gun, ye mean?" Mr. Matheson said. "Aye, that I do. It be right there in me treasure chest, along with the other such ones I found." He gestured to the box in the corner near the door.
"Others?" Jay asked.
"See for yerself. I got me a class to teach."
Jay Duncan took a look in the box. He gasped when he saw what was inside, and beckoned to Athena to take a look.
Inside was the Seafarer Gun, and about six other Transformation Guns they hadn't seen or heard of before.
"This is exactly what we were looking for." Athena said. "Thank you."
Jay took a quick look. None of the Transformation Guns there were Restoration Guns. But that was to be expected, given what he'd heard so far.
He turned to Mr. Matheson. "Where did you find all these?"
"Out there in the hall. I was going te bring them to the Principal when I got zapped meself, and then just decided to try teaching a class and decide what to do with them later." Mr. Matheson said. "Now, I need te give each of ye that puzzle I just posed in written form, so ye can try your hand at solving it. And since ye asked, if you solve the division problems quick enough, I'll let ye claim me treasure."
Jay took a sheet with the problem written down, and sat down to solve the puzzle.
Athena, meanwhile, went over to Zoe, Trevor, and the Goth Gun zapped Rebecca Fadil. "How are you doing?"
"Trevor's still miserable." Zoe said. "I told him Emos aren't always as miserable as the stereotype says, just as you told me, but he's still gloomy."
"The world is dark, and there is no sign of the sun." Trevor muttered. He seemed to be trying to write a poem.
"Don't worry." Athena said. "I know I said I'd get the Goth Gun and restore Trevor, but Jay's mom called us earlier and she's found something that'll be even better. They have a stash of Restoration Guns over at McMillan Tech Industries, and they say they'll come by in a few days to use them on those who want them."
"Really?" Zoe asked. "It sounds too good to be true."
"The way I hear it, they had to jump through a few hoops to get them." Athena said. "Or they got lucky somehow. Anyway, it sounds like a better idea than trying to use the Goth Gun."
Rebecca spoke up. "I didn't think the Goth Gun was going to work anyway. It'd probably make him some sort of Emo Goth."
Athena nodded. "Anyway, Jay's mother and the others at MTI should be able to come through for us. But it sounds like they've got a lot of things they need to settle over there, first."
She wondered just what was going on at McMillan Tech Industries. Meanwhile, Jay Duncan continued working on the division puzzles Mr. Matheson had given him.
