Oh, was there anything else in the world that a cat could desire? Well, Leopard's mind began to drift, if he were to have any wish right at that moment, it would be to always have something warm to snuggle against, like he did when he was a kitten. Oh, how wondrous it would be if his littermates could join him. The very idea caused him to mew with desire.
The sound! Leopard's eyes shot open. It was the sound that happened when visitors arrived! Two quick noises in succession, very slightly different but very significantly the same. Like a very small cat and a very large cat meowing one after the other.
The warm stone now forgotten, Leopard jumped off of the bed and out of Jon's room, down the hallway, down the stairs, only to see the girl. That girl with the yellow hair that was always visiting. She gave good scritches, but past that she was of no consequence.
"Mew."
Ah, but another cat's meow, that was of consequence. Where was the sound coming from? The girl with the yellow hair removed an item from off of her back, unzipping it as she lowered it to the floor. Before the bag was even able to reach ground, out popped an orange ball of energy.
DeForest Kitty! Leopard could not believe any of his senses. He hadn't seen his littermate in... well, he couldn't conceive of the amount of time that had passed. The orange ball of fur and the white ball of fur collided with one another and then shot off into the next room, clearly enjoying one another's company and almost not paying attention to the sounds coming from the humans.
Until the sound of a third human joined them. While neither cat could quite understand human speech, there was something urgent in the way that they heard Leopard's human shout "Sarah? What are you doing here?" The two almost panicked, sensing the human's stress, when the new arrival responded: "Relax, Gibson, I just thought my cat would enjoy spending time with your cat."
And not a moment later, Leopard found himself ambushed by a ball of black fur. "You just better hope neither of your cats hurt my William Chat-Noir," the third human said as Leopard and DeForest greeted their sibling.
Leopard was overjoyed to be reunited with both of his littermates! But wait. Had Leopard not been just thinking of them? Leopard paused, allowing DeForest and William to roll around together on the carpet. The warm stone!
Suddenly a ball of white shot up the staircase, followed closely by an orange ball, and then a black ball.
