The next day Jon was excited, he didn’t expect his wish to trigger… but he hoped. It was unlikely that the relatively few girls he would see during the day at school would be a better match than anyone he would see during the entire month.
Still he kept his eyes open looking around at everyone he passed in the halls, trying to make sure he saw every girl he could, just for a moment.
He had overslept and so missed meeting Karyn before school, and he didn’t share any classes with her. Aside from hoping his wish would trigger, he was also wondering if he should tell her about it.
At the end of the day, still undecided if he should tell Karyn about the wish he made he was sitting on the wall waiting for her, looking across the school yard, scanning hoping to trigger the wish. His eyes fell on Karyn as he scanned back towards the school building, she had made it close enough to him to be recognizable in the time since he had last looked in that direction.
As soon as his gaze caught her he felt it, his eyes snapped to her directly. It was her, the first part of his wish had triggered on of all people, Karyn. He couldn’t believe it. He felt it though, the certainty that she was the one, that they would be deeply compatible. As he felt it, and thought about it, it felt more and more correct, of course, they were already so close, of course it would work between them.
Karyn pushed the door open from the school to outside, blinked for a moment in the bright sun and started walking towards the wall where Jon would be waiting. In a moment she was close enough to see him, saw his head turning towards her. Then as his head turned enough for her to be within his field of vision she felt it. A certainty that, should she choose to, they could have a long happy romantic relationship.
“Where the hell did that come from?” she thought, then a realization, “The Stone, Jon wished for something.”
She still felt the certainty, and as she continued to walk it even started making sense. He was even kinda cute… at least to her taste. Hell, she had thought about having that sort of relationship with Jon, but… well it had always seemed that there was no way it could happen…
Jon watched as Karyn approached, he couldn’t help staring a bit. Looking her over in a way he had never allowed himself to before. She was very attractive, his type even, especially with the wish enhanced chest, though her original hair would look much better.
She arrived.
“What the hell did you wish for?”
