Tiffany Sanders and Amber Levine continued their argument near the restrooms.
Inside the girls' restroom, Nadine Ferguson was sitting silently not far from the main door. She could hear the two cheerleaders arguing even through the door. She knew why they were arguing. It was because of what she had done just ten minutes ago that had led to this.
Nadine Ferguson was an uptight religious girl. She could not stand many of the other cliques in school. The Jocks and the cheerleaders with their shameless flaunting of their bodies appalled her, and so did the Goths with their celebration of darkness and black magic. They were such sinful people who needed to get right with the Lord.
And now, these tools of black magic had somehow made their way into the school. Her friend Theodora Blakely, a preacher's daughter, had fallen victim to one of those evil Transformation Guns - the Slut Gun. Nadine shuddered as she recalled what her friends Tina and Paul had told her. Steve "The Stud" Farber -- that horrible womanizing sinner -- had found that horrible devil's instrument and caused Theodora to change from a proper well-behaved Baptist girl into a wanton whore. It was small comfort for Nadine to know that Steve Farber had been punished by being turned into a stereotypical uncoordinated nerd by another one of those evil things.
Nadine thought back to ten minutes ago. Her friend Paul had been struck by a Transformation Gun, one wielded by Tiffany Sanders. This was the Bimbo Gun. Paul, who had previously been one of the smartest Christian people she knew, suddenly started acting like a dimwitted moron. And the sinful way he was looking at Tiffany afterward... that did it. Nadine felt a horrible anger within her that she could not recall ever feeling before.
Tiffany just laughed. "Maybe you can use a bit of loosening up yourself, Bible girl." She started to point the Bimbo Gun in Nadine's direction.
Without even thinking, Nadine grabbed another Transformation Gun from under a classroom table, and fired it at Tiffany.
Tiffany dropped the Bimbo Gun, and stood motionless for a few seconds. Her low-cut outfit suddenly changed into a much more modest one. In fact, she was now dressed so conservatively one could think she had raided Nadine's wardrobe.
Nadine looked down at the Transformation Gun she was holding. It was labeled 'Prude Gun'. She noticed immediately a change in Tiffany's demeanor as she adjusted her clothing and then took a look at herself in a hand mirror.
Nadine seized the opportunity to grab the discarded Bimbo Gun, and ran to the ladies' room. She needed to get these evil things out of the hands of these sinners.
That was ten minutes ago. Nadine was still in the bathroom, now listening to Tiffany Sanders - now changed by the Prude Gun - arguing in the hallway with the as-yet unchanged Amber Levine.
Nadine had considered flushing the Transformation Guns down the toilet, but the guns were both too large to fit down the drain. These things were evil and needed to be destroyed. She just needed some way to do it safely.
But as she considered this, she stared at the Prude Gun again, and a thought came to her. The Prude Gun could be the means to restore Theodora Blakely to her normal self. Theodora was normally prudish by nature, so being zapped with the Prude Gun would remind her of who she really was and break the spell that evil Slut Gun had placed upon her.
But could Nadine do it? The Prude Gun, too, was clearly the product of black magic. Devil's work. She had already spent three minutes in the bathroom praying for God to forgive her for what she had done to Tiffany, even though Tiffany was a sinner and Nadine had acted in self-defense.
The Prude Gun could cure Theodora, possibly. But Nadine had been taught to never use black magic even for good purposes. She wanted to leave the school, find Theodora (who had been expelled), and save Theodora from what she had become. But if she used the Prude Gun to do it, what would the cost be? Could God forgive her?
She had heard that the Principal of the school was sending people out to confiscate the Transformation Guns. She also realized she had to decide if she should join with them, even though some of those people were the sinful Jocks, cheerleaders, and Goths she normally avoided.
