Jon felt the stone get warm again, but he didn't feel too different. He pulled his hand away from Sarah's and looked up, his tears causing his makeup to run.
Sarah grabbed a napkin from her food tray and carefully blotted his face, and was amazed when she removed her hand to find that Jon's face was now perfectly made-up again. The napkin was smudged with tan and black from foundation and mascara, but it didn't look like there was any missing from Jon's face. As tears continued to roll down his cheeks, they didn't seem to disturb any of the expertly-applied cosmetics that were on his face. Nobody but Sarah seemed to pay any attention to this.
Sarah popped out of her chair, trying to pull Jon up in the process. "Let me take Jon walking around a bit. Sitting here isn't going to do him any good."
Karyn joined in, "I haven't gotten any food yet, I'm coming too."
"Let's all of us go," said Tracy.
"No," Karyn wanted to see if Sarah knew anything about the stone, and didn't want to risk anyone else finding anything out, "You two eat save the table, we'll be back as soon as Jon calms down."
And with that, Sarah, Karyn, and Jon walked into the depths of the mall.
