The great thing about having the body of a model when you go to the mall is that people just bring you clothes to try on, just because they want to see them on you. The other advantage that Karyn found is that she looked great in most everything, and this is important but I'm getting ahead of myself. ( I just needed that line for a good introduction to the chapter)
Karyn reluctantly was taken to the mall for some "I've been a bad mom" guilt shopping.
"I've clearly been ignoring the changes you've been going through, I can't believe I didn't notice!" Karyns mom fretted to herself while Karyn texted Jon.
"Hey...did you make a wish about me?"
"Not about you...why?"
"I'm going to be at the mall for a few hours with my mom, but I'll come over after."
The first stop was Victoria's for a new bra, while Mrs. Black did some coaching on how important it is to wear the proper bra. She was fitted and presented with a couple of options, and the result was noticeable. Even in the jumper you could now tell that Karyn was sporting a sizable pair of sweater puppies.
The big moment was when Karyn had to take her shirt off, and for the first time she was fully on display, even her mom was shocked. Once she had the bra on, even the salesgirl commented that she looked better in it than the model did and that she should consider modeling. At first Karyn disagreed, but then catching herself in the mirror, she had to admit she was stunning, and that's when the thought finally came..Holy crap, I am hot, like really really hot. It was in this moment that Karyn realized exactly what she had become, what it meant, both personally and globally, and what she was going to do about it. She had wished to be a little like Sarah but this was so much better, Hell, she was so much better, and for the first time Karyn felt sexy. Looking at herself in the mirror, even with her mother there, she felt ever so slightly turned on by looking at herself in the mirror. This did two things, first it was a huge blow to any lack of self esteem she may have had which would have made her want to ever wear a green jumper, and second, like the first time you take a fast car out, you want to see how fast it can go. This only exasperated the shopping trip.

Jon was wandering the mall looking for Karyn, she hadn't returned his calls for the past 24 hours, now she was suddenly checking in concerned about wishes and going to the mall. Something was up, and he wasn't waiting around to find out. They didn't ever frequent the mall because that was wear Sarah and her crew would go most often and why would they seek out more of those interactions? Still he had no idea where Karyn was, and she was clearly too busy to answer texts.
Jon was trying to navigate the crowds of old people and middle schoolers and sales carts selling cell phone covers when he saw from behind what must have been the most beautiful girl in the mall. This girl seemed to be getting quite the bit of attention, not fully intentionally, just people were losing there subtly for a second when they saw her, some more than others. Maybe she was a famous person or something. She was sashaying away from him at the moment but the sway of her butt and the way her blonde hair bobbed and the way her clothes clung to her hourglass figure...he had to see the other side, so he did everything short of out right charging her, jogging "quietly" behind till he caught up. Had he not had his attention fully on her and only her he would have noticed a now flustered Karyn's mom walking with this beauty and figured it out but he didn't so he was completely caught off guard when she turned into a store and he caught a glimpse of her face.
It was Karyn, most certainly, only so much better than that. Except, she wasn't walking like Karyn, dressing like Karyn...and he didn't understand how she got so good looking. He didn't have time to think about it before he ran directly into the back of Biff, who was faking buying a cell phone cover at the time so he could check out that hot girl entering a dress store. This was turning into a weird day.
