Only when we got close did we see that there was a fight going on. The Players from earlier had found the fort. They were fighting the vampires. It seemed pretty evenly matched. While the vampires could fly by turning their arms into bat wings, they could be shot out the sky with magic. The one with swords had the reach when it came to close quarters combat. Liam looked at Will engaging one of the mages. "Will!" he called out. Both of them saw us standing there. It was time to decide what side I was going to be on in this conflict. I thought it would be pretty interesting to save the vampires. We all charged into the fight and swarmed the mage. We were able to block off his route of escape long enough to allow Will to bite the Player's neck. At that point, it was over for her. From there, we went and saved his twin. Willow thanked us after she was able to dispatch the warrior. "Wendolin is hiding in the main bedroom." I looked at them and said "I'll go get him. You guys should bunker down. The sun will be out soon." "Wesley and Wendy are fighting the other 3 pulsers. Damn them all!" he said.
If that was the case, they might get at least one of them. I ran up the creaky stairs to the top and burst into all of the rooms. "Wendolin! It's me. We have to go!" I called out. I heard him down the hall and rushed to get him. I just picked him up and carried him over my shoulder. I saw that Will was waiting where I left them. I passed the kid off to him and he said "Good work." They walked off and I followed them to a trap door where that led down to the dungeon where prisoners would be kept. It would be a good place to hide out during the day. They went down and I followed. After about 10 minutes, the vampire that brought me here trudged down by himself. He looked very injured and upset. I made sure not to get in his way. "Where's Wendy, Wesley?" Wendolin asked. Wesley glared at him and said "Because you can't fight, we had to take on 3 of them at once! She protected me more than she did herself. She died before we could kill that last pulser." The others looked real sad. Wesley bashed his fist against the bars of the nearest cell. He looked at me, Benson and Liam with furious eyes.
Pacing closer to us, he growled "What are these pulsers doing here!? Haven't we had enough of them for one day!? Get out!" I was more than fine with that. I just looked over at Benson and said "Let's go." He nodded and came closer to me. "Not you." he said as he stood in front of me. "What do you want?" I snapped. I did not have time to deal with his mood swings. "What the hell do you think I want!? I want blood." he said. I looked him in the eyes and said "I'm right here. Come get it." He yanked me by the arm until I was right next to him. "Shut up, pulser!" he shouted before biting into my neck. He drank his fill and then moved onto Benson. I got in the way. There was a growl from the vampire. "Move it." he said. "He's my friend. You can't have him, Wesley." I said, putting my foot down. We had a full on staredown. When he saw I was not backing down, he moved on. Benson exhaled heavily and he fell to his knees. I watched as he stalked towards Will and Liam. Will said "Liam's my friend." That made the downtrodden Wesley even angrier. "Friends!? Vampires and humans can't be friends!"
Quickly, they got in each other's faces and growled with red eyes. Wesley was bigger and taller than Will. It was not a surprise when Wesley beat the shit out of Will and left him on the ground. Wesley said "I'll solve this problem for you." Will crawled after him. "Stop it!" he yelled. Wesley advanced on a terrified Liam. Wesley grabbed the human by the throat and said "I'm getting rid of you before you get us all killed." Before he could snap his neck, Will bit Wesley on the Achile's tendon. That made the taller vampire fall on the floor. Will sprang up and caught his friend. "Wrap your arms around my neck." he instructed. Liam did so, and Will's arms turned into wings. As they flew down the hallway together, Liam screamed his head off. "Will!? Where are you going!?" his twin called after him. Wesley looked at the hallway in shock. His leg was healing fast due to all the blood he had consumed. "Leave him. He's mine!" Wesley said. I took out my glaive and said "Benson and I are leaving." I grabbed him by the arm and we left down the same hallway. They were nowhere to be seen. We left fast.
