Religious or not, it was kind of hard to not catch the judgement in the tone of the priest. "Father Peng?" he asked. The priest sighed and said "I guess that was a bit harsh of me. Locks and Kays are not all the same. I'm sure a guy like you will be able to stay on the straight and narrow." Wiliam decided to take the apology for what it was. Empty platitudes did not seem like they would work for him though. William really did not want to upset the priest however. Therefore, he just nodded his head. He only felt slightly better and then continued with his confession. There were other minor infractions that he could get off of his chest. After he was done, he left the booth quietly and made his way back to the dorm. As he was hungry, went to the dining hall again for some lunch. He poured himself another large bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. After eating, he decided to go back to his room. There, he could sit down on the couch and play some videogames before his roommate could return and use the system. He was going to play some football as he ate his hidden snacks in his room.
By making plays and hearing the simulated crowd, his mood rose substantially. William went to his hidden stash and pulled out a large bag of chips. They were salted lime flavored which was very rare. His roommate always to steal his so he hid them where he would never think to look. Oliver came over to his room and wanted to play against him. They went several rounds, and it was clear that William was slightly better. He was simply the better man at the running plays. Oliver could try to keep up with field goals and passes, but he was not good enough to catch Williams team. The players on William's team ran circles around him. Oliver only won 2 out of the 6 games they play. Even that win was given to him out of pity. After that, he passed the controller over to Jeremy. He had come over on his own about halfway through the third game. He watched watch them play as he ate more chips. The others also wanted to play. At the end of the day, the one that reigned supreme was Jeremy. He was able to overwhelm the others and win against everyone. Luckily, he was not the type to gloat.
Although the trash talk was friendly enough, they got sick of playing football. They decided to play other games after that. William was able to bait the others into playing a soccer game. He was able to dominate them by doing lots of tricks. The others were far behind by the time he was done. His roommate and Oliver's friends came over and played as well. They then all went to dinner together. William thought that it was good to have time together to eat. They happily commandeered a whole table for themselves and sat together. The dining hall was serving a broad selection of things. A meal plan meant that you could get what you wanted from the dining hall. The choices were usually all good, but there were things that a guy like William enjoyed more. It came down to personal taste. He had the medium rare steak over brown rice served with asparagus. It was something he knew tasted good and he was in the mood for some fish at the moment. Others had fish or chicken. One even got slices of pizza for dinner. They brought it back to the table and began eating. They had a good time.
