Sunday was for church. There was a chapel on campus and there were a few people that attended. Due to this, there were two services. One of them was at 11 in the morning. The other was at 10 in the evening. William preferred to go to the service in the morning. That way, his day was clear for the rest of the time. He could do whatever he wanted. Which is what he liked about being on campus anyway. Most of the people he knew did not wake up until after 10 anyway. At the chapel, the priest was well aware of the environment he was preaching in. Many of the morning attendees came in their loungewear. William was one of them. His parents would never take him to church and he wanted to know what the big deal was. One of the girls he was seeing invited him once. After the service, he spent some time staring off into space at his seat. The recent party and the other encounters he had since then had unsettled him. The matters of Locks and Keys was coming up in uncomfortable ways. The sermon rattled him a bit. The priest noticed him and circled back after his farewells.
William did not notice the priest come closer. "Is something bothering you, William? You're usually the first to shake my hands at the door." he said very gently. William blinked in confusion before he looked up and turned to him. William sighed and said "Yes, Father Peng. I've just been dealing with some things." Father Peng smirked at him and said "Well, I have plenty of time if you'd like to talk about it. Father Obike will be celebrating this evening." William rolled his eyes. He actually liked Father Peng's sermons more than Father Obike's. His was more focused on practical things based on the gospel. Father Peng's was more about the historical significance about the particular passage each week. It made sense as he was also a history Professor at the humanities school. Knowing how people back then thought about things was interesting to him as a Media Studies major. He said "I guess that I have something on my chest." The priest smiled and led William to the back of the chapel. There was a wooden booth for confessions. William had never used one before. It looked imposing.
He sat down in his seat and began the session. Father Peng had to walk him through it. He told Father Peng about his discomfort about seeing all the negative portrayals of Locks and Keys on t.v. He did not mention any of the names, but he talked about seeing someone selling powers for money. It bothered him. Father Peng rubbed his chin and thought about it for a bit. William wondered what he would say. "You don't need to say if it makes you uncomfortable, but it seems to me that you might be a Lock or Key. Is that close?" he said. It certainly did make him a bit uncomfortable. "Well, I guess so." he said. There was a pause. "I know you're a nice and upstanding young man. Whether you are a Lock or a Key, you need to stay the course. With great power comes great temptation. I would hate to see you become an indulgent person like they show on the news at times." the priest said. It was something William was also concerned about. Willian nodded his head. The priest continued, saying "William, you walk a lonely road. Go with God and try hard not to sin."
