There were a few bowls and plates waiting in the sink to be washed along with the used cutlery. He hated washing dishes, so he always made sure to go wash his own as soon as he used it. As an underclassman, he had some chores that he had to do around the dorm. It was nothing especially hard. They had to take out the trash and a vacuum was on loan for residents to clean the carpet that covered the floor. It was true that his roommate was nice, but he could make a huge on his side of the room that could spill onto the other side of the room if not addressed right away. William was not the cleanest person either, but he always marveled at him. Leaving the dining hall, it was nice to walk around and enjoy the campus. He was free go anywhere that was open and do anything that was available. It just so happened that there was a woodwind concert. He was not into classical music, but he knew that there were secret access points to the area it was being held in. Taking the stairs, he entered the balcony level. No one could see him from there, so he watched in silence for half an hour.

Just as he suspected, the music was not for him. He had sneaked a program when he saw the thing on the ground floor. It was apparently a composition the band made for themselves. It was being conducted by a senior. The allure of watching them secretly wore off. He stretched his arms and left the way he came. William rolled his eyes when he passed the main entrance to the hall that they were in. He left the building and went back to his dorm. It was not a surprise when he saw his roommate on the phone as he played videogames. This was a fighting game with cute magic girls and cool magic boys. They yelled out attacks in Japanese and made obnoxious noises whenever they got hit or exerted any energy beyond what it would take to walk or run. William quickly found it annoying. If it was not for the risqué outfits of some of the girls, he would have hated it all together. He sometimes did not understand why his roommate liked these types of games. "What can I say? I'm a man of culture and taste. I like exploring Asian artforms and subcultures too." he said when asked.

Knowing that the answer was unlikely to get any better than that, William let it go. Since he had long learned it was better to go along to get along, he asked to play. His roommate hummed in displeasure as he looked at the screen. "I'm in the middle of Rinne's story right now. Give me, like, 10 minutes so I can get to the checkpoint where I can save." he said. William sighed and let him have it. When he got to the checkpoint, it was half an hour later and he had almost lost all interest in playing. He was handed a controller and he decided to sit up and play. William was told all the controls and choose a white hair boy that looked cool. "Ohh. That's Takeru. He's pretty good for beginners. His combos are all pretty easy." his roommate said. They played for the rest of the evening. It was then that the roommate got up. "I have a date to get to." he said. William said "That's cool. See you later." Now that he had free reign over the game system, he put the game away and put in one of his own. The familiar controls made him relax. When he got tired, he turned off the game and went to sleep.
