Athena had gotten a real rush from being on stage. "They think I'm great!" the approval meant the world to her, in a way that it never would have before, and the attention, the feeling of a whole room waiting on her, reacting to her, she never felt like she had mattered so much.

She walked off the stage and found a dressing room, still reeling from the new experience and she saw her new self for the first time. She had brown hair, and it was curled into big curls, her hair must be longer now too because it went down to where her hair used to stop when it was straight. Then there was the make up, which was meant for the stage obviously, but had no connection to her former goth life, it just brought out her eyes, cheeks, lips...all of it seemed over done when seen up close, but on stage it made her look normal.

The cloths were the biggest change, not dark at all, a T shirt and jeans, but with an artists flare to them. She thought about her old gothic dresses and as she did, she still liked them, but she found she was thinking of them as a prop, as part of a character she could be, not as a statement and lifestyle choice as she had before. This confused her a bit.

She sat and thought about being a goth, about changing cloths and just ignoring what had just happened and going back to her old life, that might mean starting over again, but she didn't have to be a drama chick.

She went into the hall, and outside the windows she could see in the distance her old goth friends smoking. She thought about that life, she thought about the time before anyone had praised her, and she knew that what the magic had done was much deeper than appearance. She wanted the attention and praise of being on stage, she wanted to show off, if she was going to be a witch, she wanted people to see the cool things she could do, she wanted to make her dresses more awesome and thematic, she wanted people to be awed by her and love her for it. She started thinking up all the cool things she could do, and the cool things she would say, and how people would react. The excitement in her was building until, in her giddiness she went to cast a spell and....
