Susan barely recognized her daughter when she came to pick her up at school. Her daughter was wearing thick black glasses, her blond hair was a mess, and she had swelled up incredibly. And what was she wearing?
She looked at her in surprise as she entered the car. "Sarah? What happened? You look?"
"I know, it's been a horrible day. I've been sick..."
Susan was almost embarrassed to be seen with her daughter. She felt a twang of shame over that, but only for a second. Her daughter needed fixing. She would take her to a salon get her cleaned up, change her clothes, find out what allergic reaction had made her swell up.
But she couldn't be seen at her normal haunts...she needed somewhere where no one knew her.
