Neither Jon nor Karyn were sure what was going on. All they knew was that Kiki, formerly the neighbor's cat, but now a person, was somehow in tune with the changes to reality, having been the closest feline to the original wish, and that the changes for now were happening within a block radius of the house they sat in and would be expanding.
In the scheme of things, hours to change the entire world around is not a lot of time. Creating life usually takes millions of years.
Of course, sitting on the couch, watching Kiki alternate from being nice to them, to how she had treated Zoe, neither of them were sure what was in their futures, especially as long as they didn't have possession of the stone.
Karyn suddenly yelped in surprise, as her ears started to feel warm. She reached up, and felt them moving under her touch, migrating to the top of her head.
Jon was having issues of his own. His hands were reforming. He could see the fingernails reshaping into retractable claws.
Kiki smiled. "I'm so glad you are going to end up on the right side of things," she said. "It makes sense. How else could you appreciate your wish?"
