Randy Goodman looked at Jay. "What's wrong with you, man? Hanging out with that dweeb? You're going to lose some major points for it."
Jay looked at him. "It's just...she's not into me...how can someone not be in to me?"
Randy looked at him, almost laughing. "That's your problem, man? You've got the hottest girl in school and you want the one who is too stupid to be interested? You'll drive yourself crazy that way. What's up with you and Kyla anyway?"
"She's so...bossy. I mean, I like some of that about her, but...I'm the guy, you know?" Jay said. "She was trying to press me to go sit while she talked to her girlfriends..."
"Well, Kyla is kind of high maintenance," Randy agreed. "But...I bet she's worth it."
Jay looked at him. "Yeah...but she has to learn that people don't treat Jay Duncan like dirt."
"You really want to drive her crazy...just keep doing what you're doing with the nerd girl. Kyla will eat her heart out. I'd have gone with someone else, but..." Randy paused. "But none of the other cheerleaders are going to do something just to piss off Kyla."
Jay nodded, thinking about the dream he had. It was a bit hazy, but in it, he'd been the nerd being picked on. Why would he dream about that?
