"Let her go," Kyla said. "We don't need her help to figure out what's happening."
Sarah rolled her eyes. There was that same arrogant independence that Kyla was known for. She thought she could always do everything by herself. What bothered Sarah was that she knew Kyla was clever. It bothered her that someone couldn't be bothered to use their brain for something useful.
Jay looked more interested in getting Kyla alone than the potential problem. He was worried a bit about the cloud, but it was gone now...it wasn't a problem any more, was it?
And Biff was in the same camp as Jay. He'd been worried about this from the beginning. Clearly, dealing with this was more than they could handle. The Cloud could have been doing this for years, with no one noticing.
The group was split down the middle. Kyla and Sarah wanted to investigate further, and Biff and Jay wanted to..well, not. So, when Kyla strode off purposefully toward the group of former cheerleaders, it was Sarah who followed her.
Jay looked at Biff, uncertain of what to say. "So...umm...do you like football?" He said, trying to think of something to say. He wasn't happy with Kyla. Sometimes, she was too bossy. But man, she was hot.
