So slowly and stealthily, the two "new" nerds followed the two "new" popular teens. They were far enough away that Kyla and Jay wouldn't be able to notice that they were following them, but close enough that they could overhear what they were saying.
The two were arguing. Kyla wanted to join up with her friends, who were in the Food Court, and Jay was not so subtly reminding her that his mom was working late that night.
Sarah rolled her eyes behind her thick glasses. She knew who was going to win that argument. She put her hands into her pants pockets, trying not to attract attention and look like she was talking to Biff and not paying as much attention as she was.
Biff looked very self-conscious, as he was afraid that the two would notice they were being spied on. He was comfortable around Sarah, but...with most people, he was a very timid person and tried not to attract too much attention, but the simple white shirt and long skirt tended to make him stick out like a sore thumb. "Come on, Sarah," he whispered. "Let's just go..."
