Nadine stepped out onto the street, hurrying along. Lake Point wasn't exactly the nicest neighborhood, but it was home.
A complete stranger stopped her. "Excuse me, I'm lost and..." she paused. "Nadine? Is that you? What's going on here? Why are you dressed like that?"
"Do I know you?" Nadine said, confused.
"It's Tina, I woke up, and I don't know what's going on."
"Sorry, I've never seen you before in my life. How do you even know my name?"
"You're my friend," she insisted, a bit shrilly. Tina looked around, trying to figure out what was going on. The street signs indicated a cross street she recognized, a small collection of stores only a few blocks from her house. But the stores were different...dirtier, dingier. She could see some houses she remembered, although looking a bit more run-down, but also three and four story brick apartment buildings that hadn't been there before.
Nadine frowned. Something weird was going on. The sound of sirens distracted her and the stranger for a moment. "Look, I don't know who you are. So, just leave me alone, okay?" She hurried off.
Tina started to hurry after her, but tripped. She was getting to her feet when suddenly someone grabbed her arm.
