Nadine woke up with a headache. She stumbled to the bathroom, nearly tripping over a pile of clothes on the floor, and grabbed some aspirin, rubbing her arm.
The freshly inked tattoo was still a bit tender. It was small...Nadine wasn't the type to tattoo herself like some kind of billboard. She wondered for a moment if her mother would notice, but she doubted she would. She was only slightly interested in what Nadine did.
She paused for a moment, trying to decide if she wanted to bother going to school today or if she should call one of her friends and ditch it. She decided on the latter, and found her phone.
Not far away, another teen sleepily reached for the phone, grabbing it. "Whah..."
"It's Nadine, Want to blow school off?"
"Nadine who?" The voice mumbled.
"Nadine your best friend, who the fuck else? You blew me off last night. You missed a fun time. Still feeling shitty?"
The teen on the other end paused, clearing the cobwebs. "The only Nadine I know is this stuck-up religious girl." This sort of sounded like her...well, the voice.
Then, suddenly, the sleepy teen realized that where they were was not where they had gone to bed..."Umm...I'll have to call you back...umm...umm...goodbye." The phone disconnected.
Nadine frowned. She'd better get dressed and get over there. Something weird was going on. Stuck-up religious girl? Her? She almost laughed at that. It sounded like the exact opposite of who she was...Those religious types never had any fun. Maybe someone had slipped her friend something.
She threw on some clothes and headed out.
