They both slept, woke, and got up early and shaken. They had each had their own dream, as themselves, but then had also had the others dream as well right afterwards, by the time they had showered they had both forgotten the experience, but it left the mental impression that they were not themselves. The question "How am I not myself?" rang with the falling of the shower water. For Kyla, the answer was simple, she couldn't not be herself, so if this is who she was, then she was this person and that was just the way it was now, it might take some getting used to, but she just had to accept that even without the make up and the clothing and the 'fans' she felt pretty, and exciting, and powerful and as she stood naked in the bathroom, sexy too. She didn't have a bad body, nice legs, long torso, her breasts were not huge as a fact, but on her body they at least stood out. In a moment of vanity she understood why Biff (and Steve and Moose and probably Tim) wanted to sleep with her. These indulgences had to come to an end as she heard her phone buzz in the other room.
On my way. - Sarah
Kyla was almost shocked to see it. She was actually going to come over and help her after last night.
And I am going to apologize. Kyla thought....she had no idea how to do it. but also she was naked with guests coming over.
She found a big surprise in her closet. An I pad which coordinated and picked out outfits for you based on science and data and active tracking of fashion trends. (This was her fathers invention, which he stole from the movie "Clueless", which the old Kyla loved for it's translation of Austin's classic Emma about a girl who learns not to be a bitch, and the new Kyla would find new joy in for the classic 90's outfits and killer style. All of this to say that Clueless is a amazing no matter who you are and we should all give it a rewatch) This was cool for three reasons, only one of which occurred to Kyla at the time. 1. Her dad had worked out how to do this and made a lot of money doing it and changed her life and what she was exposed to and essentially who she was because of this thing, but Kyla didn't think of that. 2. This thing essentially organized and kept track of everything in her "living" closet, it could make choices for her, and essentially set her up to be always on the cutting edge of fashion. But she didn't know that. 3. It meant she could get dressed in a hurry and it would just tell her what to wear, this she was very grateful for. Sarah would have killed for something like this, but Sarah's dad was just a boring lawyer.
Kyla soon found herself dressed in a yellow pleated skirt, with matching jacket over a white top. The app told her this highlighted her hair, legs, and bust and she checked to see that the app was correct and took pride to see it was right. This did however feel like dress up, as her face was bare, she felt incomplete...suddenly her phone buzzed. Sarah was at the door.
Kyla could have spent the time preparing an apology but instead she had spent the time exploring. Time was up. If something was going to happen, she was going to have to wing it.
Sarah woke up to a blurry world, which was a bit of a shock. She could not see without her glasses, that was for sure, but she also could not remember where she put them before she went to bed. This lead to her first act of the day being knocking a bunch of stuff over and fumbling around foolishly in a groggy pre coffee funk. She had an image in her mind, (had she dreamed?) of being a graceful queen, and now her she was a blind...there they were. Glasses on she made her way to the closet which she found depressingly heavy on graphic t shirts and jeans and Hanes underwear and sports bras. In the battle of fashion and comfort, comfort hadn't just won it had conquered this closet and enacted an oppressive occupation. It took her three tries to find an outfit she thought worked. Now late she hurried to the shower and found the one bonus to having short hair, it's easier to manage, now she was back on time, but still had to do her own make up.
The sun was rising, she didn't have much time....her conquest of Kyla was off to a horrible start.
Sarah stood at the door. She was doing this because she had to. This was a means to an end. It was easier to give a few tips, play nice, be allowed in, and keep tabs on her enemy than to fight a war she didn't have the weapons for. Sarah wanted to win. It was this desire to win that drove her to Kyla door. She was doing it because she had to, because she had to, it had to be done. Her courage started to fade as the doorbell rang. As she saw the house Kyla now had...where had this all come from? As she felt small in the doorway thoughts of all that could go wrong began to occur. She thought of the clicking of the roller coaster as it rises to the crest of a hill, but it was actually the clicking of Kyla's heels as she came to the door.
The door opened. The first day began.
