Nathan was as angry as anything. "What happened to Hikari?"
Amy looked at a 'very' strange console. This digital realm they inhabited now, was different to any other. It had a very organic feel to it. And the smell... that horrible smell of something 'burning', too hot... processors were burning hotter then they should, held at bay by actual 'water' systems of human blood... Amy knew where she was. She had been here once... quickly she logged onto the system working hard on the lines of code. "Nathan, for the love of God, calm down. You're using up all the processing power here and it might cause irreparable damage to Hikari."
Something that 'looked' like Hikari was with them. But it just... stood there. If one talked to it, it might even sound like her... but there was nothing in there. It was just an empty shell. This was the fate of all digital fairies that 'broke down'... HIkari had become a daemon. She was also the only one that knew how to 'repair' such errors, and right now Amy was doing her best to fix it all on her own.
"I think I've got her stabilised," said Amy. "But I don't know for how long..."
"But where are we?" demanded Nathan. He had never seen a place like this. It was... actually intimidating. Like a haunted house...
"We're inside Hiro's personal mainframe... his body." said Amy sadly. "Hikari's... home."
Nathan looked curious at that. "Hikari never mentioned much about her host... but why can't we talk to Hiro? Can't he fix her?"
Amy gave a reluctant look. "Hikari... is Hiro..."
Nathan... pulled a face. "Are you kidding me?! She's really a guy?!"
Nadine, a young wii fairy stood between them. "It's true!"
Nathan... looked angry. He was so mad that someone would pretend to be a girl on the internet like that! He liked Hikari... what the hell was Hiro playing at?! He angrily 'smashed' a strange structure as Amy and Nadine held him back. "Get away from me! This bastard messed with me in the worst way possible!"
Amy decided Nathan needed a serious time out and turned off his run time.
Nathan froze... instantly.
Nadine looked helplessly back to Amy but somewhat relieved. "W-what do we do with him?"
"One problem at a time," said Amy using a typical 'programmer' mindset. The amiga fairy sighed as she got back to work to see what Nathan had broken. "I don't think I can push Hiro's systems any further then this. He already tweaked it to the maximum. The other digital fairies are working to keep his organs working at least... that was controlling the pace of his heart... damn it."
Nadine looked very sadly. "Are we.. hurting Hiro by being here?"
Amy gently hugged the young teenager. "Hiro used to be a very bad person... I think he's trying to show he's not like that any more by doing this... but trust me, I will not let him sacrifice himself to show it... okay?"
Nadine nodded. "Is there... anything I can do?"
Amy nodded. "I'll take charge of keeping his brain functions working... you'll have to be his pace maker for a while. It's pretty simple, but vital... use a copy and paste program to maintain the status quo. Keep his heart beating at a steady state. We'll have to lease with the doctors outside." Amy pushed a button and now they could 'hear' outside his body...
Nadine nodded as she vanished, using internet protocols to move herself along the strange organic computer that Hiro was...
Amy glanced to the frozen Nathan, and then to the daemon version of Hikari. "Hikari... Please fight it... I can't fix you, you know I can't..."
