Byran was an ordinary human boy, now a young man in his twenties. He was one of the never-changed, having never seen the rainbow-sun that everyone talked about. He lived a rather average life, and did a 'mostly' ordinary job, working in a health spa. It was 'mostly' ordinary, in that he catered for the changed very often. He was a professional of many talents, a jack of all trades. He actually didn't go to university because... he wanted a job that would satiate his curiosity about the changed.

For five years, he worked at this health spa, grooming pelts, preening feathers, or just helping the water-bound transformees in and out of the pool. He learned everything he could with this hands on approach showing empathy, compassion and joy at hearing of their lives.

It was late at night, and Bryan stood on the bridge... the same one he spent on the anniversary of the sun-change when it went back to normal. He stared out wondering if there was anything more to life... he liked his job, but...

he was still feeling... like he had missed out. He had one friend, Anne, whom he shared his interest in the changed to. They had spent more time together, talking about their various interests. It was... a little strange to admit it, but even stranger that Anne shared the same- if not an even greater passion about them. Those the sun changed. It was enough to make Bryan blush to realise that he was actually fairly normal, in the grand scheme of things. (Relative to Anne anyway)

The human boy didn't hate his life, he just wished it could be more 'interesting'.. and he still regretted now, not taking a chance before when the sun was its sparkly self. On the day that he had enough courage to venture out, the sun had turned back... forever making him wonder, what could have been. Life had taught him to never miss opportunities that might come by.

Bryan looked up at the night sky. He had... never been here at night. The sky looked so beautiful. An endless sea and he had to wonder just what else was up there. He saw one star and even if it was maybe just a 'little' silly... he made a wish.

... suddenly, that star he looked at shimmered... becoming every colour he could imagine, in the blink of an eye.

"No way..." he said gasping.
