Jeff wasn't sure why she was doing this. She should be panicking, she should be running home, she should be telling a teacher, she should be screaming or doing something! She was transforming... becoming one of those- those- freaks! Her father told her nothing was worth it. But Jeff went in and had to save-

you didn't have to

Jeff bit her lip. No... she didn't have to. She chose to. She went into the sunlight and saved that animal-girl from her assailant, and now she was going to be punished for her stupidity! Jeff wanted to cry. She had already lost her manhood though and would not show the indignity of crying just because of what...

... Jon did to her.

Jeff raised her eyes softly at that.

Jon...

Jon...

She knew who did it. She could tell someone about her. But... from what little she knew about Jon, there was no way she could have done this intentionally. Also, she realised she didn't have to expose herself as she did. She threw herself in automatically, without even thinking of the consequences. Jeff was a jerk, but... if someone- especially a girl was in danger, she was not so much a coward to leave her there. Unlike her father... who almost certainly would have. Jeff had to smile a little at that. If anything, this proved she was not her father. Not the mould that he wanted her to be. That was possibly the greatest gift of all in all this, and she had Jon to thank for it.

Could she really punish Jon? Could she blame the slug girl? It felt like the wrong conclusion. it wasn't Jon's fault that Belle opened the window, nor was it Jon's fault that she found herself in these circumstances. It was not Jon's fault that she herself was... such an ass-hole to Ricky. The prospect of being turned into something like her was terrifying, but maybe she deserved...? No... she shouldn't be punished! Damn it... why? Why this!

Still... that skunk-girl was in danger. Jeff realised she would have done the same thing anyway, humanity be damned. Is that what the angel girl was trying to tell her? That some things just... couldn't be helped? Maybe something similar happened to Jon, and... things just happened without anyone being at fault. No sane person would have done this intentionally... nobody.

...and given that it had happened... was it really all that bad? Belle was able to read, even if it came at quite a cost. Certainly, if Jon did this, she was certain she would also be looking for a way to fix it. If Jeff told someone, then it might go horribly wrong in some way. No... she best leave Jon be, maybe even help her if she wanted. But maybe just keep her distance for now. Knowledge was power enough. Everything she got involved in seemed to go horribly wrong.

She went into the classroom, and made sure her bag was secure on her back. The large shaft of metal felt odd to her. It felt like it was... growing inside her, little by little. She was sure her heart should have been pierced, or organs destroyed... yet nothing happened to cause anything like that to happen. It was all just 'numb'. Hollow. Is this what Ricky and Belle feel?

She looked over the desks wondering how to quietly sit down without causing undue attention. There were some really weird freaks here... two young twin dragon girls for one. Sheesh. She just over heard them say-

"did you get rid of the eggs?"

"yeah," whispered the other a bit embarrassed.

Jeff blinked then felt a bit ill. They turned to glance at her, realising she had heard but they didn't say anything else. The whole thing grossed her out though, and she quietly remembered the mermaid...

Jeff calmly brought a stool and sat down discreetly in the corner. She shifted her back as the giant mechanism claimed another inch inside her.. her body. That strange hollow feeling was spreading-

Then her heart stopped.

Literally.. it just stopped.

She stared quietly. Panic- No. Don't panic. Maybe-

As she could feel panic set in anyway even as everyone else was getting on with the school work in the group lesson. It took over a minute before she.. realised she had also stopped breathing. Did the rod pierce a lung? God! She shakily moved from her stool as she listened to groups various discussions. Most were just curious about Belle who was just standing on one of the desks. Normally she would be concerned about that attention but she was safe, and her own mind was elsewhere.

"Think you understand it Jeff?" asked the teacher pointing to the board.

Jeff tried to say something, but her diaphragm was not working. More then likely, it had just disappeared too. She couldn't even make a gasp to say a word. Terrified she shook her head. What was happening to her?

"Are you okay?" Asked one of the dragon girls noticing the look of alarm on 'his' face.

Jeff was almost shaking as she felt such utter fear. All the 'coolness' she tried to put on was gone, she was now in a complete and utter panic.

She ran out of the classroom to the bemusement of all the students.

Jeff ran back to his house. The fact that she wasn't breathing any more was really troubling her, as she just 'motioned' herself through the mostly empty streets. Bones were replaced with cogs, muscles with gears... she heard a ticking noise and looked behind expecting to see Ricky- hell she would have been glad at this point-

But no, the ticking noise was coming from her. Within her own body, loud and crisply to her ears. "H-Help," she said somehow, with that curious vibration in her voice. She was a little glad that she could talk... but it only meant that she was changing so quickly now and couldn't hold it back any more.

The sudden motion of her large mainspring threw off the backpack, with just a gentle push as the internal rotation joined in concert to all her other parts. With this it all just... sped up. She couldn't see it as her clothes changed into a curious black dress, going down to her knees, and a simple grey blouse formed around her body, nor could she see her skin suddenly become as artificial felt. She was aware of her teeth suddenly straightening, although she didn't know what the result of that was. Her face changed... and... that was all she could feel.

Her chest just gently pushed itself outward. She pushed with her hands- strange artificial nailless hands trying to push them inward, but they were solid and quite large to her, not even yielding a little as normal flesh might. All this was too much for her psyche, as she suddenly just fell to the ground. Her winding key was sticking out of her back vertically, like some kind of impaled pole, rotating in regular constant time. Her back was suddenly slightly covered by the a flow of two streams of shiny blue hair, tied at her temple in an intricate knot almost reaching her feet.

At this point a few passers by were looking at the strange girl, wondering what had happened to her. A few even tried to approach- but suddenly they all took a step back. Then they ran.

Jeff could hear a few scared voices, and she wondered why they would be afraid, but the voices became very distant as they fled. Was there a monster? Was... was she the monster? She opened her eyes and looked about, suddenly confused. She didn't know where she was.

The street had disappeared.

She saw small toy cars, and what looked like model houses scattered about. Rather.. well detailed. "H-hello?" she called out to see if anyone would be about. Did she end up in some kind of collection shop? She had to admit she would love to buy one of these toys, but they looked expensive.

She walked, past the small model, and... Oh... there was even a model of her own house!

She peered at the window, wondering if someone was playing a strange game to her. This all seemed so strange and surreal- and then- she saw a doll version of the mermaid. The doll was looking at her in a state of shock... very life like. Too... life like.

"God What are you!" The mermaid said suddenly.

Jeff blinked, her large glass eyes staring at the little mermaid. The real mermaid. "I... I don't know!"

Hawkins heard the call on the radio as he spoke to his partner on the phone. "It looks like we have a PDT," he said grimly starting his car quickly.

"Potentially dangerous Transformee?" Asked Cecilia concerned getting into the passenger side. She frowned a little. This was usually as dangerous as their job could get sometimes.

Hawkins nodded grimly. "Rare indeed... we best go have a look."

"What's the description?" Asked Cecelia making notes. She had heard of this code issued a few times, but rarely has it resulted in anyone being locked up for their own good. Usually they just assessed the situation and worked out what needs would be required, or if national security would be compromised in some way.

Hawkings couldn't help but show some excitement. "Big... very big... doll-girl, with a winding key on her back." He had to admit, he was intrigued by this.

Cecilia arched a slight eyebrow. "I have the sightings mapped... it shouldn't be hard to find. What do we do?"

Hawkins shrugged. "Most of the time they are just people like any of us. We'll check her out, do a criminal check, and assess if they are a danger to themselves or anyone... hopefully, we just let them get on with their lives."
