Julian was for the moment, a little happier. The Goddess had lied to her. Obviously the gods of old had no idea of the science humanity now had. Jeff availed herself of science if and when it helped her, like it did now. It was an absolutely huge relief. Still, maybe she should at least pretend to look nervous. Not a particularly hard job given the form she was forced to wear during this 'trial'. She loved the moon after all, and always called to it as a wolf. Surly to desire to 'hunt the moon itself' would show how much of a hunter she was! The goddess was just trying to teach her a lesson, there was absolutely no way she could be serious about...
"Heh, well it ain't happening." she said trying not to smirk.
Disappointed?
"Of course not!" She shouted to herself. "Oh... I'm at the diner," She said looking at the red roofed building. Round the corner was where... where she had hunted that prey to its end. The one that looked so much like the form she possessed now. She decided to have a quick look, and saw that the carcass was still there. She recalled how she had hunted the little faun, playing with it and taunting it for hours... then days... maybe a whole week. She didn't really have any need to do anything to it, but it scared so easily and she moved so.. quickly. It was a game, nothing more.
She killed it, and then... went for a burger.
So here she was again. She went into the diner, sighing at the memory. That burger did taste good...
"What will you have miss?" Asked the person at the counter.
" salad." Said Julian. She saw it. That snot nosed teenager smirked. Because she could only have the salad, obviously.
"Anything else miss?" He asked with a smile.
" no," Said Julian as she took her salad.
She didn't want to be human.. she didn't want to be this. She wanted her old sun form back! But even so... being human right now, would be preferable.
Jeff was studying as best she could. She kept to herself in the library, avoiding anyone by just looking in a book. She felt.. something really strange though again. She ran once more to the bathroom, and once again it was empty. She felt some relief at that, but at some point her luck may run out.
She looked at the strange blueness of her hair. It had turned back to normal. Sort of, but it did something weird now to the light keeping that odd bluish tint to it. It looked like a waterfall, but it was completely solid. Something to do with the way the light reflected on it? She had no idea. She had no words to describe just how the strange hair now just glistened, looking like it was in motion when it was completely still.
She slipped off her baggy trousers in the stall, to look... down there. The strange tree growth had... fallen out, no longer stuck to her skin. Excited she found it peeled off, like a pair of well made panties. She quickly removed them from her legs. The trees were all pressed together, looking like a strange type of leaf made cloth. So... in... very slow motion, is this how clothes form on someone when they transform? At least it was done, and she was not obligated to wear it.
She suddenly felt just a bit embarrassed to hold the panties that had appeared, worried if someone might ask where they came from if seen. She had to put them in her bag then she could throw them away later.
She felt something on her back itch... she tried to rub it, but was right in the middle and difficult to reach. Then she felt- felt- 'it'.
At first she attributed it to the sensation of getting stabbed. Something... something was pressing against her shirt! She thought it was going to rip it, but just as suddenly a hole formed all on it's own. There seemed to be a rod sticking out of her back-
Like... like Belle and Ricky? Oh God no!
The rod finished forming stretching out a foot or so. It didn't look at all like those of the other two clockworks. It was thicker for one. A lot thicker, relative to her body. Belle and Ricky had such a refined quality but this one... It looked... crude. A literal rod on his back, with a cumbersome winding part that was both broad and large and would be awkward for a person to wind single handed. However it was not moving. Was... that a good thing? Maybe she could get it out? She tried to pull it by getting the winding part caught in the door handle, but it felt like she was pulling her hair. Only a lot more painful. "It's stuck," She said angrily. She tried for several minutes, but it wouldn't give.
She wondered what she could do to hide this, but the answer came quickly. She quickly emptied her rucksack, and cut a hole on the side that pressed against her back. She then quickly slipped the rod over completely covering it. She looked in the mirror. Jeff... stared back at her. Not much hair on her face, and a little slighter in her build... but still Jeff. Wearing her backpack in a... not too 'cool' way, but at least it covered it. Her hair was a little long, but she used scissors to cut it once more. Perfect! She still looked... mostly like herself. She held her books in her hands, looking somehow.. delicate doing that.
She gritted her teeth, as she walked out of the bathroom. She had to get away, she had to get somewhere... God where was she going to go!
"Anywhere but here!" But... what about the study group? It was only for one hour, and it would go some way towards making amends to the school for all the things she did. Jeff did want to make amends but it wasn't her fault if this stupid transformation was stopping her! Still.. with her backpack, nobody would be the wiser. Could she really get through an hour on a desk, wearing a backpack and nobody ask?
