X-frames were deployed as the government mobilized to kill us. Because they did not have any large vehicles, they had to split into 3 groups of 3. Paul, Bret and Simon each took a pair of defectors. The remainder agent went with Brett. I was still on my own with Cindy and Quinn on my back. We took separate routes through the city. If it was a red alert, I could see why. There were lots of cops and soldiers everywhere. Hiding and moving through gaps was pretty tough. We hid in alleys, and I was fine for most of the journey. It took a while to get there, but I met with Simon and Brett outside the city limits. I got a call from him after waiting 10 minutes. I asked him where he was. "Yeah. It fucking blew up. I got one of them out with a potion, but the others are done. We're on our way." he said. I let the others know what was going on. They all were willing to wait. When the 2 came here, they were in an armored hunter green sedan. He must have spawned it in. We still had to make it back to the library in Dwan to complete the mission. There was a last ditch effort from the government to stop us cold.
I was surprised at the amount of tanks jets and armored vehicles filled with goons. I was able to clear most of it before I was getting low on mana. I aimed my hand at the large blockade in front of the town. I spoke the pretty big incantation and cast Divine Retribution- the holy nuke spell. It covered all of the guarding forces with a blinding golden light. I cleared the blockade and we punched through to the town. We were able to lose the others that were following us there. It was simple enough to make our way a block from the library and run the rest of the way there. We did a sprint and the PEP units that ran the base let us in. We spent a few days under the library. The 6 agents were debriefed. While we were down there, the defectors were wined and dined. They also were given PEP units of their liking as bed partners to fuck. It was too much, and I was not surprised when they were all killed by the PEP units when we were finally allowed to leave. They had served their purpose and the government would be able to track them down all and figure out where the PEP hubs were through them.
Zipping up the stairs, Paul, Brett and I had to leave so the others could get their rewards. It was weird to us, but we agreed to it. When they met us in the shelves, they all looked excited. They each had tons of credits and plenty of resources. It was not the only reward for them. Each of them also received a blueprint for a special X-frame. I was surprised. It was XF-07Fx. The small "x" meant that it was a special variant. Taking on that mission was a really good idea after all. I asked them if they found the other blueprints at the library. PEP units did come here to read every once in a while. Since they could plug into the internet, there had to be something to it. They shook their heads. "We were told this was a special boon for taking out the defectors. No one else has it yet." Simon said. That was a nice boon to have. Especially with a PEP lab allowing us to finish the plan. Since there were 3 of them, it meant the general plans, the systems and the chassis were already done. We just had to do neurooptics for the X-frame. That could be done in just 3 days. Our clanmates were working as well.
