'You really should slow down' Cecilia said speaking through the phone, as Agent Hawkens sped down the motorway. He glanced at the dashboard, relieved to have enough fuel. Anxiously he pushed on the accelerator, thanking that the sunlight had at least caused a great reduction in overall traffic- though there were still quite a few cars, held up by a drivers who absolutely insists they were okay to drive, when in actual fact their transformation completely prevented them from doing so safely.

He was in front of one driver like that now.

"Move!" he shouted beeping his horn. "Remind me to petition everyone re-applies for a license"

The changed person in that car seemed to be some kind of insect changed. Obviously his eyes worked different now. No longer with one single focal point, but with multifaceted vision. Fine if you were flying, this was not comparable with the act of driving though. Finally he slipped past him and into wide open road again.

The shadow-agent glanced at his mirror, then quickly took a left turn. "How's the signal?" He asked his companion.

"I am still attempting to triangulate it. It keeps jumping position, every time I measure it. I have isolated an area about 10 miles across, where the signal seems to correspond 90% of the time."

The agent frowned at that. "Like some kind of electron on an atom," he thought. "At least the signal is still getting through."

"You were very wise to put a bug on it," Cecilia thought. The place they were testing it was supposed to be impenetrable. Nothing could get in or out. How in the world did they just whisk the box out?

"It came from another world Cecilia, and was going to do God only knows what to a school. I don't take any chances."

Lilly bit her lip at the strange box, and at the surreal environment she found herself in. The squirrel-girl was supposed to be going home! She already might be in a little trouble if they found out she went to find Melanie instead of Jenny. If she delayed now, they will know something is up. Besides she had home work too...

"M-Magic?" She asked hopefully. She knew enough though not to trust strangers. But this one was promising something she really wanted to know more about. If she didn't take the chance though, would she actually get another? An image of her life as it stood now, played into her mind. Being a girl... she felt isolated, and afraid. It wasn't just the simple fact of being a girl, it was being disconnected from everyone and anyone- except her mother and father. Even having an older brother was a surreal experience. She didn't know who she was, and sometimes she wondered... did that mean, they didn't know who she was either? Was she just a stranger to them? Boy's hated her for being weak, and girls hated her for once being a boy. If she thought about it for too long, all she could do was cry- so she tried her best not to think about it.

Still she knew she should absolutely never accept any gift from stranger. "But I dunno who you are" she said quietly.

You do now. said the voice. We will be your guardian... Lilly Gordon.

"A- a guardian? You mean like Tetra?" the squirrel girl looked shocked at the prospect. Could the magic she hoped to learn, really be inside this box?

yes... go on, open the box

Lilly frowned just a bit, still very reluctant. "I dunno if I can believe you."

Do you think the magic girls believed their guardians at first too?

"Well... no..." thought the young girl. Actually that was true. They had to trust their companion to help them with the magic. Slowly Lilly approached the box, and poked it lightly with a finger. The shutters opened up, and inside was.. a cheap plastic wand? It was plastic white and pink... she wondered if maybe this was a joke, but it all seemed so serious when the voice spoke. The wand didn't look real... which she was a little disappointed by. Seeing no harm she took it but she absolutely did not want to go to a strange house.

No need to go in... just knock on the door... and simply ask to borrow the Grimoire of Le'fey... that is all you have to do. Take that and this box with you...

The young child swallowed. Slowly she picked up the box looking at it. It was made of some strange unknown material. Curiously enough it almost seemed to change its weight now and then. Very strange indeed. She carefully put it in her backpack and placed the small wand into her pocket, on the hem of her dress. Before she even could think about it she rang the bell of the house.

Morgan answered the door, and at her side was Becca. "Yes?" She asked.

"I um- I jus' wanted to borrow the.. Grim'ire of le'fey?" She asked. What was a grimoire anyway? She should have asked.

Morgan tilted her head then laughed. "Oh by all means. You are from the magic circle I take it?"

"Uh..." Lily said a bit confused.

That club was always moving the 'magic' books around, thought Morgan. She had joined up a year ago, her house was full of magical 'artefacts'. " The dark haired girl went to a shelf, and provided the squirrel-girl the old book. Go on take it. I've found more 'interesting' things now anyway." Things that actually worked now! With real magic, these things really were just toys.

Becca was staring ahead, without a word. It was like she was looking at Lilly directly... "Er Morgan? You sure tha's a good ide'"

"Oh hush little one. Come on, I want to show you more of my idea-" Morgan closed the door, leaving Lilly outside.

Lilly looked at the book. It seemed a little old, but not that unusual. She shrugged and put it in her backpack too. Now she really had to get home.

David sighed. She knew it was coming. She glanced at the mirror. She was all dressed up, with makeup... a rather nice black skirt, on a white blouse, showing quite a bit of her cleavage. she looked as if she was going to go on a nice date. Of course she wasn't. Someone else was. The phone at that point rang.

"Hey mark," David said automatically.

"H-How did you know it was me?" The voice at the other end asked. She seemed equally tense.

"Mark, I can feel your hand touch the phone- and I kind of know what your particular phone feels like. Not to mention a... lot of other things," David said with some exasperation.

"Okay never mind- look this is an emergency!" Mark was almost in hysterics.

"What's wrong?" The angel girl asked, tilting her head.

"It's Zara. S-She's going on a d-date! With a- a dude!" She tensed even more, and David could actually feel her hyperventilating.

"First of all, calm down Mark," said David with a sigh. She glanced at the mirror again, as a touch of lipstick was added to her look. She could feel Zara smack her lips, and even smile a bit to herself- this was certainly getting very weird. "Zara has the right to do what she wants with her life you know."

"B-but what if she kisses him- or worse!" Mark said running a hand through her face- through all their faces actually. This smudged the make up. She felt a pang of annoyance as the makeup was once again re-done.

David sighed and placed a hand on her own shoulder, allowing that strange resting feeling to carry through to all her other sisters. It magnified into a strange assurance. "I'm sure Zara knows not to carry things too far... she'll take things slow. She'll make sure we're all okay with it first."

"I'll never be 'okay' with this!" Mark said angrily. "She has to call it off! She used to be a guy- she shouldn't be doing this!"

"Maybe she's just going out for some fun? It might not be a date. Even if it was, it's.. okay" David idly wondered why this didn't bother her quite so much. Maybe it's because she trusted her sister. This was certainly a strange situation to be in... besides, what if she ever wanted to ... well... it wasn't likely to happen to her, but she guessed they had to compromise to keep their options open. She certainly didn't intend to be an 'angel' without such carnal thoughts in mind, though it would certainly help not to have such thoughts.

"I'm going to try and call her again to sort this out" Said Mark- but then froze as she felt something. A scent.. flowers? He brought her flowers? And- and now they were holding hands?

"I think we're too late Mark," said David blushing. There was nothing much to do but simply, enjoy what sensations her sister provided. She hoped for Mark's sake, Zara would keep it low-key.
