If you look back on some of my branches, I've spent a great deal of time trying to flesh out characters beyond the stereotypes or initial one-dimensional descriptions.

The truth is, if you think about it, many people appear to be something, but it is more complicated than you usually think.

For Sarah specifically, we see her initially from Jon and Karyn's perspective. The question is how right they are about her. In some branches, there are different takes on that.

I generally do go with the idea that she believes that she is the 'Queen' of the school. This is usually attributed to her upbringing. She has a need to show others she is 'better' than them.

I also tend to have a different take on her sidekicks, the other cheerleaders. That not all of them are like her. For example, I tend to play Amber Levine as deeply insecure, and wanting to 'fit' in to the point she goes along with what the other girls say and how they act.

I go that way because I think it is interesting, if you establish Sarah as this deeply flawed individual who thinks that you get to the top by crushing and controlling those around you...For one, the likelihood people will put up with that later in life is slim. Two, the people who choose to be around such a person become very interesting in a sense, if they aren't all simply the same sort.
