He approached me with a growl. That took me from my thinking and I looked at him. Phirlax said "You were ignoring me. Am I that much of a weakling to you? You better take me seriously." I shook my head and said "I'm sorry. I won't do it anymore." He had a complex look on his face. I was a party member and an ally. There was no real reason for him to be hostile, but his personality just did not click with mine. Phirlax placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it hard. "You better not." he said. He then took a deep breath and said "When we get home, I'm going to be the one to look after you. You obviously can't take care of yourself. Thalox would tear you apart." That was true, but only if he wanted to fight with our fists 1 on 1. I would obviously try to avoid that. Soon after that, we went to our tents for the night so that we could go on a march. Once we made our way to the castle, the leaders made their way to go and negotiate with the captain of the guard and the lord. They obviously decided to fight it out. We then some spent time building siege weapons and towers. There were also wall ladders.

I was not going to let an opportunity like this to go to waste. I stood behind some barriers to avoid the many volleys of arrows coming from the garrisons and levies on the walls. I waited for an archer on our side to be killed. My skill in using bows were low, but they were all with split attentions. I was able to get some kills with the bow with very little damage from them. I then drew my sword so that Phirlax, Helelin and I could all sally forth and meet the battering ram. The ram was being dragged by peasant recruits and some grunts. They got to the gate and the began banging the door down. We still had to get the door down before we could invade. The siege towers and the many ladders were also being deployed with varying degrees of success. The archers were focused on defending the walls, but the ones near us were trying to pick us off. If I was able to use my kite shield to block the arrows as the ram worked. It only took a few minutes to break the outer door down. Once it was down, we stormed in hallway between gates and began to attack the inner wall. It was not as thick or as sturdy.

A few more minutes of hacking at it took place before we got through. There were 35 militia men from the castle town with pikes and swords waiting for us. I held back at first and let the NPCs charge in. I circled around them to the back. If a few enemies were too busy to notice me, that was not my fault. I was able to get 5 kills by just floating around in the back. Phirlax and Helelin were with me as well. After they got wise to us, we left. The 3 of us then went up on the walls to help with those climbing the ladders on our side of the gate. We engaged them to thin the crowds that were slaughtering our men as they got to the top. We were able to distract them for long enough to allow our guys to climb up and flank them. When we were at critical health, we pulled back and retreated further into the castle town to rest up a bit. When the enemy were fully routed, they also came running past us to the keep. It gave us easy targets to pick off as they ran. When we heard the victory horn, we began cheering loudly. We were not needed for the final push for control of the keep. Phirlax was miffed with that.
