A moment passed and I thought he was going to listen to reason. Instead, he said "There is no reason to think it will happen twice. I do diligent, monthly maintenance on our reproductive protocols because I wanted to prepare for this scenario. Even with a new womb, he won't beat me." I facepalmed and groaned. "You don't get it! Listen to what we're telling you. It won't work. I'm just really fertile. You can't overcome that." I said. He just rolled his eyes and said "So you're just scared. Fine then." I left it at that. For his sake. Nikolas said "I'm going back home." Keith turned to him and hissed "I haven't forgotten you! Give me back my X-frame." Nikolas shook his head. "This isn't up for debate. You came to kill us. You lost the fight. I took it. What part of it's mine now don't you understand? Get lost." Keith turned the gun on him, but Nikolas caught it and smashed it to pieces in his grip. "Fuck! Those shitty humans and their shitty guns." Keith muttered. I looked at Nikolas with newfound respect and said "I'm so glad I met you." "Shut the fuck up. This is nothing." Nikolas scoffed. We then went home.
I was a father to be and made sure to help Nikolas. After the systems were ready I put the neurooptics for XF-09M. That took three days. In the meantime, I was also researching a multi-bladed, circular melee weapon that could be thrown like a boomerang in the Bio lab, an assault rifle that highlights enemies close to the reticle when aiming as long as they are within range in the Chem lab and dual pistol sidearm set in the Energy lab. When that was done with 8 days were spent fabricating all the blueprints for XF-09M twice. A set of futuristic dual uzis, a large kitana and a sword and shield that dealt some added heat damage were to be the next research topics in the PEP lab. When I went to see Nikolas at his apartment, the stolen X-frame was in the bedroom. "You actually came back. I thought you were just going to pump and dump me until the baby came." he said. I shrugged and said "I do what I say I'll do. Here is your first care package." I gave him the initial blueprint and the resources for it as well as the boomerang. "I already have one." he said. "No. You have Keith's. I want yours."
Because of my promise, he felt it was okay to call on me for everything. He had a hacking mission and I took some ciphers with me to end it quickly. He also had to go and assassinate a cop that was getting too close to the library. I was the one that lured the cop out into the open. Nikolas killed him with the boomerang. He also wanted me as back up when he went on his drug deals. The scrappers knew he was there when Keith attacked. Luckily, I was able to calm them down. The deal went fine. I never got a single thank you from him. The second week, I began to see a bump on his stomach. I gave him the resources and blueprints for the neurooptics. He also got the dual uzis. Emil and the others crowded around and Bruno said "Maybe I should get the X-womb. Look at all this shit." Emil got angry. "Where's your pride!? We are PEP units." he snapped. I smirked as I got behind Nikolas. He let me grind against him for a bit as I said "What's better? Pride, or two X-frames?" He pushed me off of him and said "Your not even hard. Stop fucking with Emil." I was a bit embarrassed by that.
When we had to do a rescue mission from the jailhouse. It got tricky. We had to get in and out without being made. Nikolas had a X-frame. I did not. I did, however, have a lot of cabs that could be used as getaway cars. I had to send Maroon to buy an anime mask at the novelty shop for me. I also had him buy me a whole new outfit that covered my whole body. It was a turtleneck and cargo pants. I drove to the jailhouse by the police station and waited with my trunk open. It was broad daylight, so I had to pretend to be fixing the engine. Some people even tried to help me. I had to politely decline their offers. Nikolas appeared out of nowhere and broke down the door. He went inside and an alarm went off immediately. After 24 minutes, he had the PEP unit following him out. "Hop in the trunk!" I called out. She turned and did so. I slammed the trunk down and got in the car. It was a massive police chase, but we lost them long enough to get to the extraction point. The PEP units there had spare clothes and some new cars for us. "Take care of the cab." I said before we drove. Mission accomplished.
