Like I expected, the cyborg backed off. "I wouldn't be caught dead being friends with this creep." he said. "Well, we have places to be. If you'll excuse us..." Alexis trailed off as he got in the car. Alex got in the driver's seat and we were on our way. "Who was that!?" Alexis said. I just told them that he was someone that I knew. They shared a look and let it go. "The rules say we need to set up the next extraction point." Alex said as he looked at me through the driver's mirror. I was fine with that. We had to go to the store and buy some clothes. There were going to be four cyborgs doing something. After that, we drove to another alley and waited for them. The three of us knew that something was up when we heard gunshots and an explosion in the area. We saw 2 cyborgs that were fucked up. I could see their skin was cracked and torn. They were bleeding blue. Behind them were several of a group of heavily armed scrappers. "Wait until we see them cross the line." Alex said. He had marked the border of the extraction point earlier. They were getting shot at and ran. They both cleared it and got past us.

I helped the others blow the others away. When they were dead, we turned to them to assess their wounds. They were nearly falling apart now. Alex shook his head and pointed his gun at one of them. "There is no way they can get to the Library or to the Foundry without being seen. We have to terminate them." he said. I got in the way. I spread out my arms. "No way. They survived and made it. We can find a way to fix them." I said. Alexis put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't make this harder than it needs to be. No matter how much we like you or how grateful we are, we will never allow a human to enter the Foundry. That's the only place that can fix them." he said. I just shook his hand off. "I'll have them join our clan." I snapped. I then turned to the two. "You two want to live, right. I can help you." I said. They looked at me. One of them said "I don't want to die." The second tried to stab the first through the chest. I caught the arm and stopped him. I then picked the other one up. I asked his name as I put him in the car's trunk. He was PEP-09738. I flinched when I heard a gunshot. The other died.

My word was law within the clan. By putting him in the clan, he was now under my protection. When we got him to the cab depot, I took a good look at him. He was really fucked up. He was singed all over his body and half his face was gone. The trunk was soaked in blue blood. "My battery..." he whined softly. We put him on the charger to keep him from shutting down. Holes were all over his body and some wires were sparking. "We'll have to give you a name. I'll call you Sparks from now on." I said. He nodded slowly. Alex and Alexis had to take the car to the next extraction point area. When Sparks was done charging, we put him in the trunk of one of the taxis. I told an eager Ryder to take him to the Foundry to get fixed up. Ryder took the keys from the rack and got in. "It might take us a few days, but Sparks will be okay." he said to me before driving off. I gave Sparks the energy field generator in the trunk to help charge himself if he needed it. In the meantime, I was happy to go around and take it easy in the town. I went to the Red Grind the next day. Alex and Alexis were both smiling proudly.
