A beep sounded and then the two cyborgs jumped to their feet. I leveled my gun and shot the man. Any one that callous at eliminating someone that was of no use, was not someone who I wanted to work with. He was wearing a ton of enhanced armor. He looked at me before shaking his head. "We could have been partners. Oh well. I'll take the research for free and skip the gym for a week. It's all fine with me." This was an actual boss. Luckily, I had my cheat rifle to even the odds. Alex and Alexi were dead weight. They mostly stopped the elite guards from entering the fray from the hallway outside the apartment. He was super fast and had lots of health. I on the other hand had unlimited bullets and healing magic. It took over and hour of us ducking into rooms and getting into close and long range before I was able to take him down. I groaned in exhaustion. He was on his knees as I approached him. "You will regret this kid. If you pull that trigger you might as well blow your own head of next. It will be better than what we will do when we get you." I scoffed as I took my shot. He was finally dead.
Jumping in celebration would have to do for now. We had to go. Countless goons and now cops were here. Alex and Alexi were fine, but they were both at half health. It would be a miracle if the enemy level did not increase soon with all the bodies. Alex said "We need to get to the extraction point." I asked where it was. Alexi just scooped me up and said "We'll take you." They bashed out the window and jumped out. I yelled in panic. We landed in an alleyway. I was put down and they led the way to the extraction point. The path was long by foot. We could not go by car because the cops would just run us off the road. The extraction point was five blocks away in an alley where 2 cyborgs were waiting. They gave us new clothes and keys to a car. "Stop at the library for your things." one said. Alex drove to the library and they got out the car. "We'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." Alexis said as he leaned back in to speak to me. I nodded and waited. It was getting late and people were beginning to go home. I sighed until I heard a knock on my door. It was the cyborg that came to help out Emil.
Keeping my cool, I nodded to him. "Hey. Fancy meeting you here, huh? Let's go for a little walk." he said. I shook my head. "I'm waiting for my friends to come out of the library. They'll be here any minute." I told him. He just chuckled. "Emil said he saw you today. Why were you on his work site?" he asked with a smile that told me he was actually angry. "I was hoping I could pay the favor by fucking him in the ass. Rumors are starting to spread that he fucked me in the ass. Can't let that stand." I joked. He stared at me before punching the glass out of the window frame. "Listen here, you little shit! Emil is not a plaything. Either of us catch you around and we kill you. Got it!?" he shouted. I just shrugged mockingly. I just killed a fucking boss. If he did not have an X-frame, he was just a puppy dog barking. This wasn't even our real car. We would be ditching it at some point to keep from the crime coming back to us. The cyborgs would use it at some other point. I could see Alex and Alexis coming in their cargo pants, boots and t-shirts. The three looked at each other. "Friend of yours!?" Alex asked.
