Brett drove the bus while I followed closely behind with Omnikid, Mikey and Jamie. We were once again the center of attention. The old bus we were using could simply be passed off as a relic of days gone by. The four large centaurs on the road behind it was not so easily ignored. I would have to get them to help me ditch this avatar. I would never be able to be anything but a beacon of attention. That was the last thing that we wanted right now. A squad of cyborgs attacked the sight. Unless it was a retaliation for something another Player did, there was only one thing that would make them do this. The secret transmission hub. There was not way to know for sure other than to ask a cyborg and even then there was no guarantee that every cyborg heard every mission request or that they would honestly tell me if they did. For now, the best thing to do would be to lay low and establish our base in the town. We left the town and made it out to the area between. There were actually creatures out here that were hostile. There was a small gang of scrappers fighting a large robotic pack of wolves.
We drove by them, but they just began taking potshots at us. Paul shot them from the window of the bus as we sped off. When we got to the town, we drove around for a bit to look at what was there. It had been a couple of in game days and the NPCs wanted to stretch their legs. We could see there was a few cyborgs out and about. We left them alone and they had no reason to suspect we knew anything. We decided to walk around the town to get a lay of the land. There was a marketplace, shopping street, library, park, bank and a town hall. While Neo-Rutten City had a population over 6.21 million, Dwan Town only had 12,575 people lining here. It would certainly be a lot quieter here than in the city. I had Bret lead the others back to the bus. "Paul and I have to figure out a place for all of us to stay. You wait at the bus." I said. They all left and we went the opposite direction. "Let's look for a spot for a condo that can house a good 30 people." I told him. We found a spot on the outskirts of the town. Paul placed his hand on the ground and closed his eyes. "Let's get a high end one." he muttered.
Just like with Brett, red and black lightning burst from the area. Then there was a bright flash and the condo appeared. It was 7 stories high with a penthouse on top. With the lecture we got from the punk, the encyclopedia of the game setting updated. I had been looking trough it a bit and I decided I wanted to make a Clan building. There was a good space for it across the street. I told Paul about my plan and he agreed. We crossed the street and decided what we would build on top of it. We could not just have a cyborg clan building out in the open. "Let's put a taxi depot here so members can ear cash driving people around." "Say no more." he said. A large warehouse filled with 11 taxis appeared in front of us. The taxis were the futuristic sedan models in the city. "We should make them sky blue and white. You know, for the Church of the Sky." I said. He went and pressed his ands on the hoods and changed their colors. There was also a big booth for a dispatcher on one side and a lounge for off duty drivers in the back. The lounge itself had vending machines, kitchenette, a TV, and 3 couches.
