There was the flash followed by a disturbing lack of change, everything seemed as it was before. They checked everything, phones, pictures, Karyn called her mom and asked how she was feeling as a way of testing the waters about her maybe being pregnant, but everywhere they looked there was no sign of Karyn having a sibling.
"It doesn't make sense, you made a wish, it was granted...where is my sibling?" Karyn asked.
"I don't know, count it a small blessing?" Jon said, thinking of what a pain Zoe could be.
and with that they went about their days. Except...well first their was Kayla.
Kayla was wearing a similar green and blue outfit to Karyn and someone remarked how they could be twins. Karyn brushed it off.
Then there was Athena, who was handing out flyers about joining her Sisterhood....some sort of Occult club, Karyn assumed, fairly normal.
Then there was her mother, who made the comment that if she wasn't dating Jon, why was she spending so much time with him, "what is he your brother or your lover?" to which Karyn recoiled
But the worst one was of course Sarah, who now that Karyn had wished to look more like, people kept mistaking her for and more than one person had made the "You could be sisters" comment.
These were the one's that Karyn noticed, she missed Nadine talking about becoming a nun (or sister Nadine), she missed being called cis gendered by the health teacher, she missed the person in the cafeteria recruiting for Big Brothers/Sisters.
The universe was asking Karyn to choose, if she ever agreed something might happen.
