Seeing him in danger, I rushed in. "Alright, you've had you're fun. Leave him alone." I said as I stood over him. He was cowering as the ones beating him fled. He looked at me and said "I'm sorry you had to see me like this. If I was stronger or faster, I wouldn't get teased by them as much." I asked him what problem they had with him. "I get taken care of by my brother and the other priests. The others don't have anyone like that, so they like picking on me." he said. I was impressed that Daniel could understand them on such a deep level. "How do you know all that?" I asked him. "My brother told me that." he said. That seemed much more likely. "Well, your brother is looking for you now. You were supposed to be home a while ago." He looked shocked. and then scared. "I don't want him to see me like this!" he said. I asked him why. I did not think it made sense to me. "He won't be mad at you if you tell him what happened." I said. He shook his head. "Last time he found out, he nearly killed all of the urchins. The guards had to hold him back. I don't want to see him like that ever again."
With that information, I knew not to mess with Daniel. I was not thinking on harming him anyway, but this was an added deterrent. My mission was with Curt and not with young Daniel however. I picked him up and put him on my back so I could take him back. He whined and complained, but did not try to escape. I guess he was too tired from the beating he just took. When Curt saw him, he was obviously furious. He demanded that Daniel tell him who was responsible. Daniel refused and ran inside the church. Curt looked conflicted and then apologized to me. "You have my thanks once again, Miss Brianne." he said before going into the church. I had nothing to do, so I decided to follow him inside. Father Shalo almost bumped into me. He looked frightened. I allowed him to calm down before he spoke. "I was going to donate some of the church's seedlings to the garden in the slums. It is a rough place, but most would not attack a priest." he said. I offered to accompany him. He breathed a large sigh of relief. "Thank you, Miss Brianne. I know that I will be well protected." It was high praise.
A pair of very foolish thieves tried to attack us. I killed them with my hooves. I barely had to tap them. Father Shalo was terrified, but I managed to get him to move on. It was easy to see that he was pale. We made it down to the slums where we were ambushed by an assassin. I turned and bucked with my hindlegs. He tried to block it, but the damage was too high. You could not go down if you blocked a strike, but there was chip damage. The chip damage was way above whatever health he had. His guard was broken and he was staggered. With him in a defenseless position, I just killed him with a slash of my greatsword. The garden was just up ahead. Father Shalo helped the gardener plant the seedlings and then said a prayer for the garden. I was then supposed to take him back to the church. That went well. No one else was that dumb enough to get in our way. Once I got him home, he thanked me and I went inside the church. The quest to look for Daniel was more of a personal mission, so it did not count to wards the church. That meant I still needed 2 more missions. That was fine.
