"Look Jon. You've got to stop acting like there's a conspiracy or something. People change and there's not a lot that you can do about it."
"I suppose you're right Karyn. It just seems to be happening all of a sudden."
"It's always happening...you are just imagining it is happening all at once," she said. "Is this because someone asked you out and you don't know why? Are you trying to explain that to yourself?"
That hit a bit close to home. "Maybe," he said. "I still don't understand why Amber is interested in me, all of the sudden."
"Well, you do have this...boy next door vibe going for you," Karyn said. "You're just an average nice guy. By the way, with Yukio...are you sure she isn't just playing along with you as an excuse to hang around with you?"
"Now who is being paranoid?" Jon asked her. "I...guess it's easy to see something around every corner." After that thought, Jon was still convinced something was going on that was weird...but he was starting to wonder if he wasn't blowing it out of proportion.
