Kyla had been helping one of the teachers with an experiment during the entire lunch period, and had missed hanging out with her friends.
As she headed toward her next class, she spotted her usual gang heading out of the lunch room as a group. Zelda and Tiffany were with them. They all seemed to be in an animated conversation about something.
Kyla covered her annoyance. There was something about the two of them that bothered her. Maybe it was the fact they couldn't care less about Kyla and her friends before.
"Hi, guys," Kyla said, approaching them.
"Umm...hey," Sam said, looking a bit nervous.
"What's going on?" She asked.
Josh looked equally awkward. "We're just...going to class."
Kyla frowned. "Umm...okay," she said, confused. Something was off, she just couldn't figure it out. "I guess...I'll see you all later." She headed off to class, a perplexed look on her face.
"That was weird," Josh said.
"Yeah...who was that?" Sam pondered.
