Sarah reached into her new bag, formerly Karyn's, and pulled out Karyn's keys. She had gotten away with Karyn's things, but this was her most daring action yet.
She unlocked the door to the Black residence and headed up to Karyn's room. When she got there, she plopped down on Karyn's bed and felt a enormous release of tension.
No skimpy skirts, not much in terms of makeup or jewelry. She picked a book off the nightstand nearby. There was a bookmark in it. She started at the beginning.
Sarah briefly thought about her parents. They hadn't called her once since they left. They weren't supposed to be back till the end of the weekend. They didn't care about her...just making her be what they wanted, not what she wanted.
She just read the book, and imagined staying here forever.
