When she got there she found Athena waiting for her. Zoe looked at her with disgust. "What on earth is she wearing?" Zoe asked herself. "I can't be seen hanging out with her."
"Hi" Zoe said trying to figure out a way of ditching her, at least till after the cheerleading tryouts. Those girls could be judgmental.
"What are you wearing?" Athena said. "You look almost like a completely different person."
"I have cheerleading tryouts today...you know how those girls are...it is as much about appearance as anything. I'm not going to lose this time."
Athena looked at her. "Zoe...why don't we find Zelda and the others and talk about this...?"
"I can't right now, I have to be ready. Maybe after school, okay?"
Zoe walked away. Athena frowned. She needed to find Karyn. She had mentioned something odd going on with Zoe's brother as well.
She headed down the hall and spotted Karyn from behind and chased her down. "Karyn, I need to..." She froze. It was Sarah McMillan. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else."
"No, problem," Sarah said. "You're..." she was trying to remember the name.
"Athena DeVries."
"Yes, that's it. Is something wrong?"
