"Zoe! I'm so..." but Athena didn't get a chance to finish before Zoe had stormed off.
It was more than odd to Athena. She believed in the occult. There were spells that could make people more open to suggestion. She'd tried a few...but this seemed to be on a level far beyond just being convincing.
She couldn't imagine Sarah or Tiffany quitting the squad. And she knew Zoe had a temper...but she usually reserved the sort of anger she just saw for her mother, not for her best friend.
Athena frowned. If it isn't magic...Zoe always hates when her mom tells her she shouldn't do something...maybe I hit that nerve? She wondered.
She resolved to go over to Zoe's house after school...give her time to calm down. In the meantime, she had several mysteries. Karyn had mentioned Jon was acting oddly, Tiffany and Sarah...there was an advantage to being mostly ignored by people at school...it made it easy to spy on people.
She went to find her friend, Zelda. Maybe she could hack into Miss Fine's calendar to see who she was meeting with.
