He saw workmen going by and working on Zoe's room, taking things in and out.
This was not what he expected. He headed toward his mother's room and slipped in. He tried to shake her awake, repeatedly. But she didn't move. Had the workmen drugged her, or something?
He thought back to his dream. He vaguely remembered hearing someone saying that something wasn't working on him. Was it real? Was that why he was awake, and the rest of his family was unconscious?
He peeked out the window, and saw a black truck and a van parked outside his house. He could see a similar one parked down the street as well, and workmen swarming around his house.
What should he do?
