"What are you staring at, Jon?" she asked. "Stop looking at me like that."
"Are you...all right?" He asked, slowly.
She looked at him like...well, Susan McMillan might. "Of course I am," she said, as if it was silly of him to ask.
Jon turned away. He wasn't quite sure what was going on. Sarah was acting like she was in charge, which was typical for her. But it was more as if she was in charge of the house, as opposed to the universe. He thought back to the cleaner version of his bedroom and Nadine's mother...
It seemed like people had taken on new roles, but were still acting somewhat like themselves. He was a bit confused as to who he was supposed to be, and who Sarah was supposed to be. If Sarah was acting like a parent...who was Jon supposed to be? His dad had been gone for several years, although a lot of his things were still around. His mom hadn't even talked about dating again.
Laura came out of his old bedroom, wearing a shirt and a pair of slacks. it wasn't exactly like something Jon himself would wear...he was usually a bit more casual.
"Are you...umm..looking forward to your day at school?" He tried.
