Ricky was heading to her next class when she spotted Miss Ross heading in the opposite direction, holding the hand of a child.
"Hello, Miss Ross. I'm sorry about today. I don't know what happened, or why I was late. I just..."
Kaitlyn paused, and smiled. "I understand, Ricky," she said. "I was a teenage girl not too long ago. Try not to let it happen again though."
Ricky appreciated the moment of kindness from her teacher. "Who is this?" Ricky said.
Kaitlyn paused, thinking how Ricky reminded her of her when she was in school. She'd been thought of as one of the guys too. She should probably tell the girl that she'd find her balance. "This is the Principal's daughter. I'm taking her to her mother's office. She's a bit shy."
