Victoria Lynch took Patti's hand. "We'd better go another way," she said. "It looks like those kids are having a fight."
The two turned, and nearly bumped into a dark stranger. "My apologies," he said, and continued on his way. The two froze, and blinked...as if awakening from a dream for a time...and in fact they had.
The dark stranger didn't stop until he was out of sight. His influence wouldn't last indefinitely, but he needed to see how long he could maintain it, if he needed to. And the mother and the little girl had piqued his interest earlier.
He turned his attention back to the fight for a moment. A situation created entirely in the new reality, one which was attracting attention. He blended back into the background, something he was rather skilled at.
