"Hello? Are you still there?" the woman asked over the phone.
Stephanie brought the phone back up to her ear. "Yes, I'm still here. Now, what's this all about?"
"I think it would be better if you came down. You remember what I said last time..."
"Yes, yes, I know," Stephanie said, when really she didn't. "You aren't throwing him out of school. I won't stand for this. I'm a taxpayer."
"This isn't about that," the woman said. "Please...I'd rather we talk in person."
